Preparation of design and cost-estimate documents for the cleaning of the Vachagan Riverbed, construction of new retaining walls, restoration of existing retaining walls and aesthetic design of the Vachagan River basin (from the area surrounding the Garegin Nzhdeh Memorial Complex to the bridge adjacent to the “Kapan Medical Center” CJSC) in the Kapan town of the Kapan community of the Syunik region, the Republic of Armenia
Project Details
The following design works were carried out within the framework of the project:
- Cleaning the Vachagan Riverbed,
- Construction of new retaining walls with a total length of 408.0m on the left bank of the Vachagan River and repair of existing retaining walls with a length of 62.0m,
- Repair of existing retaining walls with a length of 660.0m on the right bank of the river,
- Repair of the right-bank sidewalk of the river, including restoration of the railing, installation of new railings,
- Installation of a lighting system,
- Ensuring accessible conditions for people with disabilities,
- Construction of 15 platforms to provide access to private houses,
- Study of the existing bridge from Melik Stepanyan Street to the Garegin Nzhdeh Memorial Complex, near the water basin, and implementation of cosmetic repairs,
- Construction of about 0.8km of sewage collectors from 160-300mm diameter polyethylene corrugated pipes for existing houses on the right bank of the river to exclude the flow of wastewater into the river, as well as development of detailed drawings for the removal of one of the existing water lines from its course and the implementation of a r/c water collecting channel in the same section.
An environmental impact assessment report was also developed within the framework of the project, which passed an environmental examination and received a positive conclusion.
