Design and estimate of fish protection structures in Spandaryan, Tolors and Tatev reservoirs




Project Details

Within the framework of the project, a detailed design of fish protection structures for the Spandaryan, Tolors and Tatev (Shamb) reservoirs of the cascade of hydroelectric power plants built on the Vorotan River was developed.

Detailed studies were conducted of the hydrological regimes of the mentioned reservoirs, the geodetic, hydrotechnical and engineering structures of the areas, as well as the species composition of the reservoirs' fish and the biological characteristics of the fish. As a result, , selection of the most effective type of fish protection structure was done, considering the electric, acoustic, luminaire and air-bubble curtain fish protection technologies.

As a result, of the studies and analyses, a detailed design of the electric barrier system and supporting metal underwater frame for each of the mentioned reservoirs was developed.

An environmental impact assessment report and management plan were also prepared.
